1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using MindVault, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
MindVault is a note-taking and personal knowledge management application that:
- Stores data locally on your device
- Optionally syncs data via iCloud (user-controlled)
- Provides encryption for sensitive content
- Offers premium features via subscription or one-time purchase
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your device and encryption password
- Backing up your data regularly
- Content you create within the App
- Compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction
4. Account and Security
If you enable encryption:
- You are solely responsible for remembering your password
- We cannot recover your data if you forget your password
- Do not share your password with anyone
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Premium features require a subscription or one-time purchase:
- Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal
- You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
- Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies
- We offer a 7-day free trial for new subscribers
6. Intellectual Property
MindVault and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of all content you create within the App.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use MindVault to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Store illegal content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Distribute malware or harmful content
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of MindVault is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
MindVault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- That the App will meet your specific requirements
- Data preservation in all circumstances
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your data
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MindVault and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
